Legal and Regulatory Framework

  • Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) in the UK

National qualification frameworks are formal structures which are adopted by countries to define their qualification systems. Generally, they identify a hierarchy of qualification levels in ascending order and state the generic requirements for qualifications to be awarded at each of these levels.

  • European Qualifications Framework (EQF)

The EQF is an 8-level, learning outcomes-based framework for all types of qualifications that serves as a translation tool between different national qualifications frameworks. This framework helps improve transparency, comparability and portability of people’s qualifications and makes it possible to compare qualifications from different countries and institutions.

  • Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF)

The Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework helps people of all ages and circumstances to access the education and training that is appropriate to them over their lifetime. It can help you plan your learning and develop progression routes to follow, whatever your situation may be.
